When the Hospital was founded it was supported by generous donations and subscriptions administered by a group of Trustees. In 1949 the League of Friends of Cranleigh Village Hospital was formed as a charity from the existing Board of Trustees. The League of Friends continued the work of those Trustees by raising money for improvements and substantial extensions to the Hospital, by continually updating equipment and by providing those comforts which made a hospital visit or stay more agreeable to patients.

The charity also became a company limited by guarantee in 2007. It is currently run by a Board of 16 Trustees/Directors who meet on a quarterly basis. Dr. Diane Christie from Cranleigh Medical Practice is one of the Trustees/Directors. The Hospital Sister attends the meetings to ensure close co-operation between The League and the Hospital continues. More recently a consultant from the RSCH, Dr. Andrew Carne, has been invited to attend meetings to ensure closer ties with the RSCH.The Annual General Meeting is held every year in November and the accounts are audited and avilable to anyone seeking financial information.

The day to day running of the organisation is carried out by the officers:

Chairman – Mrs. Dianne Davies
Hon. Secretary – Mrs. Sue Camp
Hon. Treasurer – Mr. Malcolm Keeping

The Board is supported by a number of Associate Members and other volunteers who have helped to raise funds in the past and currently distribute copies of the Annual Newsletter to over 3000 homes in the Cranleigh and Ewhurst areas.

New Associate Members or volunteers are always welcome. If you would like more information please contact us or download the Associate Membership application form from 'Documents'.
